Annual meeting with BVF scholars
33 of the 52 BVF scholars are already studying. On January 18, 2026, the eight jury members met with the students in Manila. They are in different semesters, study different subjects at different universities – but they all have one thing in common: they are ambitious, successful and determined to reach the top. It is wonderful to witness the development of these young women.
Assessment 2026 for the start of studies in 2027
From January 15 to 17, 2026, the next selection process for BVF scholarships took place in the Philippines. Forty applicants were invited, and we were able to award scholarships to a total of 16—ten went to applicants from Girlstown Biga, Silang, and six to applicants from Girlstown Cebu. They are currently in the 11th grade of high school, so they will be able to begin their studies in the fall of 2027.
BVF now has 52 scholarship recipients!
Congratulations Deanne!
Deanne Alvarez has sucessfully completed her degree in Bachelor of Secondary Education major in Science.
Deanne shares:
„As a result of your investment in my education, I'm now giving back to the community as a Science teacher at Immaculate Conception Cathedral School, Inc. This role allows me to inspire and shape the minds of the next generation, and I'm passionate about making a positive impact on their lives. I'm living proof that your kindness has multiplied and is touching the lives of others.“
Congratulations Cyra!
Cyra Jae Talento has completed her studies and successfully passed the Civil Engineering Licensure Examination.
Cyra shares:
"I am deeply grateful to be a beneficiary of the Bona Via Foundation Scholarship, an opportunity that I firmly believe was meant for me.
In 2019, while completing my requirements at the Sisters of Mary Girlstown in Silang, Cavite, I learned about the scholarship. At that time, I was not included in the initial list of candidates. Still, driven by my strong desire to continue my studies, I applied—and was accepted and became part of the first batch of scholars—an honor that motivated me to strive for excellence throughout my academic journey.
My journey was far from easy. In November 2025, I took the Civil Engineering Licensure Examination, a challenge that tested not only my knowledge but also my faith, discipline, and perseverance. As the eldest among the scholars, I felt a deep responsibility to succeed—not only for myself, but to inspire the younger scholars to keep chasing their dreams no matter how difficult the path may be. This journey required sacrifices. There were moments when I had to set aside personal celebrations and important events in my life to stay focused. I learned that success is not built on knowledge alone, but on consistency, discipline, and the willingness to keep going even when it feels overwhelming.
Today, I am proud to say that I am now a Registered Civil Engineer. This milestone would not have been possible without the unwavering support of the Bona Via Foundation. Because of this scholarship, I was able to focus on my studies without the burden of worrying about educational expenses.
From the bottom of my heart, I thank everyone who is part of the Bona Via Foundation. Your generosity, love, and belief in students like me have changed lives. You did not just support my education—you helped me build my future."
Double is better
There are two types of scholarships under the umbrella of the BONA VIA FOUNDATION:
The Annemarie Lampe Scholarship is financed from the foundation's initial capital.
The Bona Via Scholarship, on the other hand, is financed from donations. Here, special courses of study, such as agricultural sciences, can also be specifically supported if desired.
By 2025, a total of 27 Annemarie Lampe Scholarships and 9 Bona Via Scholarships had been awarded.
Meeting with scholarship holders
On January 19, the 18 female scholarship holders studying at BVF met in Manila for a valuable exchange. Without exception, all of them are very successful in their studies, one has completed her degree and two others will graduate this year. Seven are in their first year of study. It was very interesting to hear their different impressions and experiences. Joanna Ligan, for example, is the only woman on her Industrial Technology-Electronics course. Sharra Brieva maintains contact between the scholarship holders.
Eight Additional Scholarship Recipients
On January 11 and 12, 2025, eight more young women were able to impress at this year's assessment and were awarded a university scholarship of their choice. To be eligible, they must be accepted into a state university in the Philippines. They will begin their studies in the fall of 2025 or 2026
Congratulations Sharra!
October 2024 we have something to celebrate: The first scholar of Bona Via Foundation graduated as “Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering”. Her theises "Optimizing Solar-Powered Efficiency: A Smart Clothesline Retrieval System Integrated with Internet of Things Technology," was successfully defended. We are very happy, send our heartfelt congratulations and best wishes for Sharra’s future.
We are mourning the loss of Dr. Klaus Lampe
The founder and Chairman of the Board of the Bona Via Foundation passed away on February 6, 2024 in Stuttgart at the age of 92. Until his last day, it was his great concern not to accept poverty without action. He and his wife had experienced poverty in many parts of the world. They were convinced that poverty could only be overcome in the long term through education. Together they financed around 30 privately organized scholarships. After his wife's death, Dr. Lampe wanted to further develop the fulfilment of his heart's desire and to put it on a secure basis. At the age of 90, he finally established the Bona Via Foundation. Since then, 28 scholarships have been awarded to young women who are on the road to success: Bona Via!
We will continue his work in his spirit. Thank you, Klaus!

Girlstown Scholarships 2024
In January 2024, the time had come again: after the written application in December 2023, we were able to invite 30 applicants to an intensive assessment. We got to know highly motivated and talented young women. After two days filled with various tasks and interviews, the six-member jury decided to award a further ten scholarships: five Annemarie Lampe Scholarships and five Biga Bright Futures Scholarships. The next step towards studying is the entrance examination at a state university in the Philippines. The targeted start of studies will then be 2025. The targeted subjects include agricultural science, civil engineering and medicine.

Eight of them are already studying, while three others have received a study place at a state
university and will begin their studies in the summer of 2023. The remaining seven scholarship

for a place at university and begin their studies in 2024. The kick-off has been a success!
Meeting with the scholarship holders since 2020
In January 2023, an exchange took place with the eight BVF scholarship holders already studying in Manila.
